About the Artist
David Feldkamp
Dave was born in Lorain, Ohio and is an artist with no formal training other than an art class in his Senior year of high school. After graduating from high school Dave attended Ohio State Barber College in Columbus, Ohio where he became and award winning hair stylist. He became a Master Barber and a member of the International Guest Artist Association. Dave met his wife Peggy in 1975 and they married in 1977. In 1984 he participated in the Ohio Hair Styling Championship winning first place.
After 12 years in the Hair Industry he made a decision to follow in his father’s foot steps and began a career in retail management, spending the last twenty of those years as a
General Manager for Costco Wholesale. At times management and retail can become hectic and exhausting to say the least. While at a local book store I wandered into the art category and picked up a book “Relaxing With Zentangles”. That was all it took, drawing became so enjoyable and relaxing I began to branch out into colored pencils, watercolors and pastels.
Today, he and his wife Peggy are retired and living in Bluffton, South Carolina with their English Bulldog, Gia.
I focus on colored pencils as my medium of choice currently and I am available for pet portraits, flowers, birds and wildlife among other works. Dave is currently available for Pet and other Commissions.
